I'm looking for an API to send emergency alerts for school closings, announcements, etc. From what I gather the SMS API is AT&T subscribers only. The in-app messaging is cross carrier, but I'm confused on the consent part. If we have a phone dedicated to this service, everytime a message needs to be sent does someone have to have that phone in hand to give consent? or is it a one time consent for that phone/api/AppID?
Once you give consent and generate an access token, you can reuse the same access token for 7 days. To continue beyond 7 days, you can refresh the token. You will not have to give consent again if you continue to refresh the token. To learn more, please see our OAuth documentation.
