Q: I have a collection of tools that can utilize XML. Is there a quick easy way to translate JSON into XML and back and forth?
A: JSON is the first data format that was included in the architecture of M2X. Our roadmap includes support for other data formats, including XML, in the coming months. Depending on what language you are using, there might be a pre-built library for making the conversion to/from JSON. You device/application would need to handle that conversion for you.

Since the M2X API would be a custom XML schema anyway, the tools you use that have XML built in would need to transform them into the M2X format, if it had XML, anyway. Therefore, when you are marshaling/un-marshaling your XML, it would be just as easy to drop into the JSON format of M2X as it would be into it's custom XML format. Of course, you could ask for SOAP and a WSDL, but then that is so early 2000s.
