AT&T Video Optimizer - Video Optimizer was unable to pull trace from target device
Video Optimizer was unable to pull trace from target device
09.07.2018 12:31 PM
After starting data collection, running through a few screens on the device and then stopping data collection, this message appears.
"Video Optimizer was unable to pull trace from target device"
Using Windows 10 and Galaxy S6
In the trace folder on the PC the video is there with two other files.
In the device folder This PC\Galaxy S6\Phone\ARO\UIComparator there are 5 XML files.
In the Video Optimizer, when I try to open the trace folder, I open it and nothing happens. No messages and nothing is loaded.
This is the first time I have tried this and it is recording. I assume its some permission, but have been through the device and opened anything remotely related. I can see the files from the PC and I can copy them from the device to the PC.
Thanks in advance.

You are correct that the work around is to explicitly pull the traffic from the phone. You will want to use the 'adb pull' command from command prompt:
1. Go to the folder of the adb path in command prompt
2. Go to the folder and copy the traffic.pcap from there to the VO traces folder
adb pull /sdcard/traffic.pcap C:\ \<trace folder> (command (to copy from sdcard))
Also worth noting: please make sure you use the latest VO 2.0 version and have all the pre-requisites configured. Full details on that can be found on our website Docs page:
