Video Optimizer doesn't show trace 03.02.2018 06:26 AM
I have been able to collect a trace. The trace folder contains all correct files. When I open the trace no error messages pop up, just the interface with no data at all. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this?

Hi, we need the steps to reproduce the issue. Seems like the trace collection part is good, but failed loading it on analyzer. So can you please give more details about the used device, version and the VO version ? Logs will be helpful too.

So I'm using Video Optimizer v. 1.4.0. Trace collected from Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F). Video Optimizer confirms it collected a trace correctly. I put an example trace folder here: https://github.com/BerendNannes/VideoOptimizerTest It opens correctly as well, but it just looks like an empty file.

Thanks for the trace details. Which platform did you try to load the trace - was it on windows or Mac or Linux ? I tried to load your trace that was downloaded from Github, on Mac. But I was not able to load it. But still I'm able to load the pcap file for analysis. When I played the .mov file, it seems that the language used on the phone is not English. Seems the network used was Wifi and there is no .Mp4 file generated in the trace. Can you please let us know whether you used Win/Mac/Linux platform for trace collection ? Meantime we will check the logs and inverstigate more on this.

Thanks for all the info, Nannes. I had noticed that there is an exception handler error in the log about parsing the time value. Removing the 'time' file from the trace works, but this is only a work-around. We will look deep into this issue and will let you know what is causing this issue.

Another thing I noticed is that it doesn't save the images it downloaded. It should be doing that right?
REPLY : That's correct - Only those images which are downloaded in the traffic (available in the Request/Response view table in Diagnotics tab) will be saved to the Image folder under the Trace folder. In your case, only that .PNG file got downloaded in the traffic and hence is available in the Trace/Image folder.
