Issues with IoT Starter Kit(Gen 2) 02.13.2019 09:19 PM
I understand that is product isn't something for the home gamer(AVE reference) but I have run into problem after problem right out of the box. I fully admit I am new to this and I am learning as I go so there is a good chance some of my problems are from a lack of knowledge on my part.
On the sheet of paper that comes in the box it tells you to create a marketplace account then visit "marketplace.att.com/quickstart"
There it explains you have to activate the included sim. I am 90% sure I did that right, it shows all the information from the sim number, account id, IMEI, MSISDN and shows active. I even get current session info when the unit is powered up. There is an option to register the device as well by entering the device serial number and I pretty much tried every number on the outside of the box and on the unit itself but every time I try it tells me "No device was found.". I do not konw if I am suspposed to do that or not?
Here is where I started running into issues.
After downloading and following the quick-start guide and plugging everything in it says to go to "marketplace.att.com/amoc/devices/gsk/register". All I get now is a "502 Bad Gateway". When first started work on this it did load but I was not getting any data from the device(accelerometer, temp, etc). I e-mailed AT&T and they told me to check the APN on the device. I was finally able to shell into the device and the APN appears to correct and the device is on the WWAN network(ping and tracerate seem to work). The iot_monitor that comes pre-installed is running and I was able to use the dev tools to compile and upload a new iot_monitor to the unit.
I also notice information on the M2X page/console and here on the forum to a URL "starterkit.att.com" while referencing infomation and that name doesn't even resolve?
At the moment I am struggling with M2X but I do not know if the issues I am are related to device connectivity issues or just my lack of knowledge.
The device fundamentals videos have been a world of help.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
