I integrated Watson with an Asterisk (PBX www.asterisk.org) I have.
It basically records what you said, sends it to Watson, get the text and I conver the text to speech.
I noticed that is way to slow to conver the audio to text using watson. I takes like 6 seconds
I would not be able to use it for an IVR.
I'm using speex format for sending the audio.
My question are:
Could this be because I'm using the sandbox API and not the production API ?
Any way to improve the response time? any any suggestions?
Is somebody else experiencing this response time?
We have had a similar experience when using the AT&T Speech API for an Android app. Response times were around 5 seconds, which basically renders the service useless...
