We are proud to present the four winners of the AT&T U-verse Virtual Hackathon
We had an exciting virtual hackathon where over 50 developers submitted creative ideas to leverage the U-verse platform. Of these, the 10 best ideas were selected to move on to the second phase of challenge where, over four weeks, the developers transformed their concepts into working apps. Our judges reviewed these apps for creativity, complexity and commercial viability and we are proud to announce these four exciting apps as winners.
Sports Squares allows sport enthusiasts to choose a sport to watch with their friends who also have U-Verse. The game squares are defined in 10 by 10 matrix where friends can choose a square containing the number of their choice. When the game ends the winning friends are displayed on the TV, and also sent via push notification to users of the mobile app. As a bonus, the winners will be tracked over time for bragging rights.
FlipEDU makes it very easy for teachers to use educational resources, especially videos, to make learning fun and easy. Automatic quizzing can be set up to get feedback on effectiveness of videos to continuously improve the curriculum. Teachers are rapidly moving to technology and online educational content, and FlipEDU will be an integral part of their education plan.
LikeTV mobile app detects shows you are watching on AT&T U-verse and with a simple tap allows you to instantly "like" the show! LikeTV allows you to rate not only the entire show, but also specific moments in the show. Viewers can now see second-by-second heat graph for a live show, and with social integration you can see what your friends are watching and loving. You can also integrate it with wearable devices like Pebble to seamlessly “like” the show, along with other remote control functions like channel and volume control.
MyTVCam allows you to use your iPhone as a camcorder and display the images real time on your TV. The app uses the phone’s camera to record a video and then stream it to a proxy server which then allows you to view it from within a U-verse app.
