Isis Mobile Wallet Goes Live in Austin and Salt Lake City
AT&T launched Isis Mobile Wallet in Austin, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah today. Isis, a mobile payment system based on the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, is a joint venture among AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
AT&T Isis supported phones include: Galaxy S III, HTC One X, Samsung Exhilarate, LG Escape and Samsung Rugby Pro. Additional software upgrades might be needed for the phones that have been previously released. Customers can pick up an Isis SIM card, download the free Isis Mobile Wallet app from Google Play to their Isis NFC enabled phone, and begin making mobile payment through a tap to an NFC enabled payment reader.
The Wallet holds credit, debit, and loyalty cards while simultaneously organizing offers, deals, and promotions. Isis can help manage spending by showing card balances and recent purchases for most of the cards in the Wallet.
With regards to mobile payment, the first thought comes to mind might often be “Is it safe?” The Isis Mobile Wallet has multiple layers of protection. The app is pin-protected, has an auto-lock feature and provides the ability to suspend use remotely. Card data is securely stored on the Isis SIM card.
