Introducing In App Messaging from Mobile Number (Beta)
I’d like to introduce one of our newest APIs, In App Messaging from Mobile Number. This API can be a great asset for developers looking to provide a better messaging experience and keep their customers engaged.
The API enables your application users (who are AT&T mobile phone customers) to send and receive text and picture messages to any U.S. mobile phone, while maintaining their mobile identity (no short code necessary). As your AT&T Smartphone customer uses your app, they can immediately share information they find useful, interesting, funny…add more adjectives here… with friends and family across any U.S. carrier, all without leaving your app.
Because messages are delivered like a normal text or picture message and include the sender’s mobile number, the receiver is more apt to open the message as they will likely recognize who it came from. Additionally, if your app customers are also users of the free AT&T Messages app, replies to messages sent on behalf of your app can be received by the sending device and by your app.
What’s more, the API can be leveraged for just about any application experience you are looking to increase customer engagement, such as social, gaming, communications, healthcare, news and entertainment, sports, clubs andmore.
We’d love to hear your feedback on this new beta API- how might you use it and how can we continue to improve on it to help you meet your needs?
