Jared Leto, Actor, Musician, and Director
Jared Leto’s two decades of work as an actor have encompassed a host of intense and transformative performances. Leto’s recent performance in DALLAS BUYERS CLUB has brought him his first Academy Award. He is next starring in the DC Comics/Warner Bros film, SUICIDE SQUAD bringing the legendary Joker back to the big screen.
He was honored with a Gotham Independent Film Award for his documentary feature Artifact, which he directed. The movie also won the People’s Choice award, for documentaries, at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. He also directs music videos for the multi-platinum-selling arena band Thirty Seconds to Mars, and is the lead vocalist and songwriter for the band, which comprises Mr. Leto, his brother Shannon Leto, and Tomo Milicevic. The band has circled the globe in sold-out arenas, playing over 300 shows in nearly 60 countries on six continents to 3 million people, thereby breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest-ever concert tour by a rock band. Thirty Seconds to Mars has sold over 15 million albums worldwide and their music videos have received more than a billion views on YouTube.
Leto is also an entrepreneur and investor, holding investments and advisory positions in over 50 tech companies including Uber, AirBnB, Nest, and Slack. He is the founder of The Hive, a social media, digital marketing, and e-commerce company; Adventures in Wonderland, which provides unique VIP experiences for fans to meet artists; and VyRT, a platform that provides a social theater around premium live content.
Ray Kurzweil, Co-Founder and Chancellor of Singularity University; Director of Engineering at Google
Ray Kurzweil is one of the world’s leading inventors, thinkers, and futurists, with a thirty-year track record of accurate predictions. Among Kurzweil’s many honors, he has received the 2015 Technical Grammy Award for outstanding achievements in the field of music technology. He is the recipient of the National Medal of Technology, was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, holds twenty honorary Doctorates, and has been honored by three U.S. presidents. Kurzweil has written five national best-selling books, including New York Times bestsellers The Singularity Is Near and How To Create A Mind. At Google, he heads up a team developing machine intelligence and natural language understanding.
Nate Silver, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of FiveThirtyEight
Nate Silver runs the award-winning political website FiveThirtyEight.com, where he publishes a running forecast of current elections and hot-button issues. Now published in The New York Times, FiveThirtyEight has made Silver the public face of statistical analysis and political forecasting. He first gained national attention during the 2008 presidential election, when he correctly predicted the results of the primaries and the presidential winner in 49 states.
Dr. Fei-Fei Li, Director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab and the Stanford Vision Lab
Dr. Li works with brilliant students and colleagues worldwide to build smart algorithms that enable computers and robots to see and think. She also conducts cognitive and neuroimaging experiments to discover how the brain sees and thinks. A recipient of the 2014 IBM Faculty Fellow Award, 2011 Alfred Sloan Faculty Award, 2012 Yahoo Labs FREP award, 2009 NSF CAREER award, the 2006 Microsoft Research New Faculty Fellowship, and several Google Research awards, Fei-Fei is also a prolific author and speaker (including a TED talk favorite “How we’re teaching computers to understand pictures” in 2015).
Jason Silva, Filmmaker, Philosopher, TV Personality, Wonder Junkie
Jason Silva is a media artist, futurist, philosopher, keynote speaker, and TV personality. He is the creator of Shots of Awe, a short film series of “trailers for the mind.” These shorts are philosophical espresso shots that explore innovation, technical creativity, futurism, and the metaphysics of the imagination.
John Donovan, Chief Strategy Office and Group President, AT&T Technology and Operations
John Donovan is responsible for the corporate strategy function, technology development, network deployment and operations, and the company’s transition to a software-defined network. John is driving AT&T’s global leadership position in its technological transition to separate hardware and software and virtualizing network elements to the cloud.
John Stankey, CEO – AT&T Entertainment Group, AT&T Services Inc.
John Stankey is responsible for the company’s position facing the consumer market segment. He leads strategy, marketing, and operations around the development and distribution of a premier entertainment experience. John oversees AT&T’s entertainment offerings, including TV, video and content development, consumer mobility and wireless products, and high-speed Internet services, as well as advertising business.
