Hack Your Ride with Mojio
The Hack Your Ride: Apps for Cars Developer Challenge, sponsored by Mojio and the AT&T Developer Program, is looking for the next big innovative idea for the connected car. Make no mistake, this isn’t just a hackathon, it’s a chance to build an “apps for cars” business with Mojio’s app accelerator prize package to take your app from demo to download.
The Mojio platform runs on a 3G+GPS OBD-II device that can connect to almost any car —1996 or newer— to a smartphone or other mobile device. The Mojio device allows you to access many features that are otherwise locked behind walls and computer codes that usually only your mechanic sees. This connection empowers you, as a driver, to make safer, better, and smarter decisions in or, because of the 3G cellular connection, out of the car.
You think you can take connected apps to the next level? The judges for this challenge aren’t looking for simple fuel consumption calculators or a vehicle locator app —by now those are “been there, done that.” Our judges want to see the next innovation of how your app can take the connected car to the next level. And, Mojio is making it worth your while by rewarding finalists bring their app to market with an exclusive App Accelerator Package. The AT&T It Can Wait® team is also kicking in a $500 Amazon gift card as a kicker to the app that does the best job of reducing driving distractions, and spreading the word about the It Can Wait campaign in the Safe Driver App category.
