Got an app that you want to sell or distribute to consumers?
Perhaps you’re a garage warrior that codes by the cover of night and you’ve just pumped out this awesome app that that’s going to change the world. Your next immediate problem is getting that smartphone app to your millions of potential customers around the globe, lounging away in their comfy living rooms or thundering down the steepest mountain biking trail there is within 50 miles.
So you turn to AT&T and ask the question: How do I sell my wonderful shiny new smartphone app to your customer base?
The long and short of this answer is that unless your idea is that unless your app is the next http://icanhascheezburger.com or a J2ME app, there is not a current process to get your app to AT&T’s customer base that AT&T has already crafted.
Now, if your app already has a ton of users or you’ve got a website that’s got a ton of users and are interested in turning your website into a mobile app, please email me at ad101f at att dot com.
As always, there are exceptions to the rule: J2ME, BrewMP and Enterprise B2b apps fall into this category. If your app falls into one of these three categories, then there are standard processes by which to get your app “ingested” into our system and out to our customers. If you have an enterprise app, we even publish a catalogue of these apps. Both the catalogue and B2B app process can be found here: http://developer.att.com/developer/tierNpage.jsp?passedItemId=400034.
So if you happen to have a consumer targeted app, please email me, Alex Donn, at ad101f at att dot com and I’ll help step you through your various options.
