Google Play Accepts PayPal and Opens A New Door to Increased Revenue
By Bill Bledsoe, Senior Product Marketing Manager – AT&T Mobility
Google Play will begin accepting PayPal as one of the choices in Google Wallet upon checkout. By expanding to accept PayPal, Google Play has opened a significant door for both consumers and 3rd party developers, globally. Previously, the only payment choices for consumers were limited to carrier billing and credit cards.
Since PayPal has a relatively easy setup process, it is a popular choice among consumers for making payments across a broad array of purchases. The good news is that developers are not required to do anything to receive the benefits of the expanded PayPal reach. The popular PayPal service is supported in 12 countries including the US, Canada, the UK, and Germany.
