Code like it’s 1996!
The “web” was new, Yahoo was all the rage, HTML was amazing, and we were playing Doom on our networked 486 desktops in full VGA glory. The web back then was a sort of holy land that promised to obsolete all things physical, usher us into a land of uber efficiency and introduce new and innovative products.
With all the recent action around apps and mobile products, it seems perhaps like we may be taking a trip back to 1996! Ben Keighran, CEO & Co-Founder of Chomp, a search engine for mobile apps, just posted an interesting article on Techcrunch about the “appification of the web.” In the article he talks about the excitement around app development as well as the new innovation around companies like Instagram, Foursquare, Shazam and Rovio.
