AT&T Enhanced WebRTC API Has Now Launched
Guest post by Jason Unrein, Senior Product Marketing Manager
When we started this journey, we considered the evolving WebRTC standard. In order to compete with a relevant offer in the market, we knew we had to add value. We decided to do this using some of our assets, including our network.
With the help of Ericsson, we’ve integrated our WebRTC solution into our network. Among other features, this allows developers to enable calling into and out of a browser.
The following features are now available in production:
- Virtual Number – rent a new phone number, and associate it to your app—or dole them out to your customers to use
- Account ID – Allows developers to call-enable the Account ID (e.g., Customer Name@yourdomain.com) associated with a domain name. This instantly gives your existing customers access to a rich set of communication features they can now use to communicate with each other.
We also added some advanced calling features, including:
- Move a call seamlessly between endpoints
- Transfer a call
Note: The AT&T Mobile Number will be the next feature pushed to production. Please keep an eye out for future notifications.
We are excited to reach this milestone, and hope you will take this opportunity to sign up for the developer program and try out the service.
