AT&T and WebRTC: A Great Connection
- Video Calling
By Bill Bledsoe, Senior Product Marketing Manager
Over the past few months, we’ve been discussing WebRTC – a fantastic technology that we’re frankly excited about. In this post, we’d like to give you a glimpse at some of our plans for WebRTC at the 2015 AT&T Developer Summit.
As we’ve said before, customers really aren’t interested in enabling technology itself; they are more focused on if an app makes their life easier. At the same time, developers want to spend their time bringing their ideas to fruition and making them a success without spending all of their effort on backend activities. Therefore, our goal with WebRTC is to make things easier and offer more features for developers than what is currently available.
How You Can Learn More
Your first opportunity to learn more about AT&T’s WebRTC solution is at the AT&T Developer Program Bootstrap Week session on Tuesday, December 16th (11am PST) entitled “What the AT&T WebRTC Solution Can Do for You.” In the session, you’ll learn more about our features and get a demonstration of a simple cut-and-paste code snippet framework that we’ve developed for the AT&T Developer Summit Hackathon (more on that in a second). The framework is designed to get voice and video calling plugged into your app quickly, so that you can focus on your app’s awesomeness, rather than the details around video and voice calling.
Then, join us at the 2015 AT&T Developer Summit where we’ll be revealing even more details on the AT&T Enhanced WebRTC solution and how you can get involved. If you’re attending the hackathon, you’ll have an opportunity to use the technology first hand as part of the overall competition. Additionally, we’ll have conference track sessions highlighting AT&T’s Enhanced WebRTC solution, opportunities to discuss features one-on-one in our Expo Hall, and even some dedicated time to discuss it at our evening networking event.
We’re excited about the world of possibilities that WebRTC can offer in terms of new, richly-enabled communications experiences. Whether in an app, in your website, or in other uses yet to be defined, the ability to easily integrate audio, video and more into these experiences with a trusted partner like AT&T is why we think our WebRTC solution will help you mobilize everyone’s world.
