Brew MP SDK and Tools
Brew MP development is supported by the Brew MP SDK and a variety of tools. Following is an overview of each of these assets.
Brew MP SDK
Download and install the latest Brew MP SDK. The Brew MP Multiplatform Overview document describes how the SDK is structured to support multiple platform versions, including v. 1.0.2.
Installation and Environment Tools
Brew MP includes a Visual Studio plugin and an Eclipse plugin that integrate Brew MP tools and support into the IDEs. In the Brew MP Library, select Primers, and see these documents:
1. For Visual Studio developers: C Visual Studio Primer
Visual Studio
Developers using Visual Studio will need to install the Brew MP plug-in from the SDK. Once installed, Visual Studio becomes fully integrated with the tools provided in the Brew MP SDK. Visual Studio can be purchased at the Microsoft Store. Please see the Visual Studio homepage for pricing and a comparison of Visual Studio editions.
2. For Eclipse developers: C Eclipse Primer
Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers
Eclipse is a free IDE and is very popular with the open source development community. The IDE allows for additional plug-ins to aid development. All development languages/file types associated with HTML and Widget development are supported.
Eclipse can be downloaded from the Eclipse site.
Developers using Eclipse will need to install the following components:
- Java Runtime version 1.6.0_07-b06 or newer
- GNU GDB Debugger version 6.8 or newer
- MinGW
- CodeSourcery G++ Lite Edition for ARM q3-66
The Brew MP Eclipse plug-in will also need to be installed from the SDK. Once installed, Eclipse becomes fully integrated with the tools provided in the Brew MP SDK.
