Call Management (Beta)

Call Management (Beta)

Call Management (Beta), powered by Tropo™, makes it easy to add real time, cross-carrier voice and SMS communications to your apps. You can use the programming languages you already know (JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, Python, and Groovy) to craft a unique experience for your customers using a few simple communication commands like these (to name a few):

    • answer
    • ask
    • call
    • conference
    • message
    • say
    • transfer

Just choose a virtual telephone number, and discover how easy it is to give your end users a whole new way to interact with you and your app over the phone.

To get access to the Call Management (Beta) API, full access members are welcome to contact us.

The information on this page is focused on the Call Management (Beta) API, powered by Tropo™. If you are interested in getting access to the Call Management API based on Web RTC that was just announced, please continue checking the site. It will be available in the near future. You can also access the Alpha version of the API now at the AT&T Foundry.

How Can I Use the Call Management (Beta) API?

Give your app some personality Got a small office (or even a big one)? Give it a professional flare by allowing your customers to talk with your staff by saying their name or area of expertise.

Efficiency If someone isn't in the office to take a call from a customer, record the message, transcribe it and text it to the appropriate staff member.

Convenience A restaurant can give their patrons a safe alternative to ordering take-out while on the go. Build an app that guides your customers through your menu with voice prompts. At the end, have the order sent by text message to the restaurant and the customer.

Connect people Forward customer service calls to home-based agents. Have one number that rings your whole soccer team.

Analyze your calls Put a different phone number in each of your advertisements and run reports on which ones are most successful. Have a sales line that automatically logs calls into your CRM. Build a call center app and pop up account details automatically when your customers call in. Record and transcribe your customer service calls to spot trends.
