This section provides developers with technical guidance and deeper detail on supported AT&T mobile platforms. It also includes targeted information from AT&T device makers or original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)—not a duplication of the OEM's materials, but key links and information for working across all supported platforms.
AT&T wants to offer subscribers the widest choice of devices across the broad variety of platforms and OSes, but supporting this goal can mean more work for developers due to device and platform fragmentation. AT&T provides guidance to help developers with this challenge.
For example, to help with the complexities of platform selection, we offer the AT&T Mobile Application Planner (MAP). One of the questions AT&T consistently gets is "Which platform should I develop for next?" There is no consistent or definitive answer to this, but MAP guides developers through the decision process clarifying issues such as strategy, segment, and demographic, which leads to a more objective platform-selection preference.
The majority of this section covers information on AT&T supported platforms and OS partners. Each platform listing includes an overview, key features, differentiators, and links to additional partner-provided information. Some listings include links to other AT&T-originated content, such as in-depth white papers.
